Happy Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day. When I was little I would wonder why people had flags flying at the end of May. My brother Kevin would tell me that it was for his birthday, which is May 30th. And I believed him! I am not sure why I believed him, we never really got along growing up. You could say we pretty much hated each other till he left for the Navy and was not around that much. I remember the 1st time he called home from basic training and I missed his call. I cried because I missed it. Anyway, we are much closer now and we get along great. I wished he lived closer to me.

Anyway.... We did not do much this long weekend, I was able to do a few things at home that I wanted to do. Saturday Abby and I went out to run some errands, the girls played in their pool for a while, Raymond moved the flower bed to along the back fence (where I wanted it to be in the first place), we went swimming at the Bakers on Sunday (thanks so much, the girls and I always enjoy this), and to Meemaw's for dinner Monday night (very yummy). Now it is raining and I am about to go get ready for bed and watch Jon & Kate plus 8 and fall asleep.

On the way home from Meemaw's when we exit onto Appling and we pass the 3 large crosses that are at Bellvue Baptist. I was thinking about the crosses and Abby says, "three crosses" and before I can say anything, she continues "Jesus was on the big one" I was amazed that she knew that and I realized right there what a huge role we have as parents to teach our children about God. I knew this before but it was really reinforced tonight. Maybe I should read more of the New Testament to the girls at bed time instead of the Old Testament....

Abby & Allie surprise we more and more everyday. Saturday morning they were talking to each other in a full conversation, that made sense. They are growing up way to fast for me.

Allie is doing really great with the potty training. She is going potty during the day and can stay dry during her nap. Now if I can get Abby to go potty.

Abby & Allie's Babies

Anyone who knows the girls know that they love their babies and carry them just about every where they go. We have finally got to the point where they will ask if they can take the babies them with them or leave them in the car when we get out. I have made Allie's baby a new outfit to cover up the fact that is was getting a whole in the center of it. I also make Abby's old baby an outfit as well.

Well, now I have made the "babies" a pillow, a blanket and a summer dress to wear. Here is a picture of Allie's baby.

Summer time has arrived

I have taken this post idea from my friend Rachel. It is apparently warm enough for the pool to be filled. We have cleaned the kiddie pool up and filled it with water. I made it into a pool with a
slide and oh the fun Abby & Allie have had with it.

Abby has no fear

Monkey See - Monkey Do - Allie will try it after Abby does it

Tonight while Abby was in the tub and Raymond was getting Allie's jammies on, Raymond heard her say, "Hey, there is a spider in here. Hey, I'm getting out" and out she came.

Scrapbook Pages and Crafts

Here is a scrapbook page I worked on last night. It is for Christmas pictures and I have covered the entire page with paper, which is new territory for me. I have posted it without pictures for my best friend Jennifer, who should be impressed that I covered the page.

I hope to take the girls to Disney some time next year when they turn 5. I am a huge planner and I am organized so I need a book to write down want to do, where we want to stay, character meals, etc.... So what do I do.... I make a book.... I copied the book from my friend Jennifer's craft blog.

And the Oscar goes to.....

Allie Jennings for best acting in scrapping her knee. This morning the girls were going out to play in the backyard and Abby fell and scrapped her knee up, it needed a band aid. So I fix her up and off we go back out to play. Here comes Allie, "I need a band aid". I tell her that she is fine and she does not need one. She then bends down and "scraps" her knee on the patio and starts to "cry". I guess she is pretty smart.... She got her band aid.

Happy Mothers Day

I know this is a few days late.... Every year I want to have a Mother's day picture made with me and the girls. I am trying to teach Raymond how to take a good picture as well. Anyway, here is this years picture.
I got a card from Raymond, that was the most honest card he has ever given me.
Front: To my Wife, even though things can get kind of crazy around the house, I just want you to know that I'm always here for you...
Inside: I may be plopped in front of the TV- but I'm here! Picture a guy sitting in a chair covered with a remote, food, soda cans, golf clubs, etc....
At least he picked an honest card.

Games Kids Play

This past weekend when we were at my parents house the girls played Duck, Duck, Goose and Hide and Seek. The girls played hide & seek with Kevin, Zachary and Marissa. And played Duck, Duck, Goose with the kids and Aunt Kelly.

**Warning** there are little girls squealing in this video.

Veggie Tales Pirates Who Don't Do Anything Movie

OK, I have 2 friends who posted their little boys signing the Veggie Tales Pirate theme song on their blogs. Here is our version. The preview for the movie that was out earlier this year plays before the Wonderful Wizard of Ha's DVD. We watch this DVD 2 or more times a day so Abby has almost memorized the entire preview. It is so cute.

Happy Birthday, Daddy

This weekend my brothers and I, and all of our families went home to Savannah to try and pull off a surprise 70th Birthday Party for my dad. We pulled it off and he was very surprised. All of my dad's brothers and sisters were there as well as some of thee friends including Aunt Ella and Uncle Al, my mom's sister. Here are some pictures for the weekend. I have 132 pictures to choose from. I have mine, my mom's and my Aunt Ella's.

SURPRISE!

We told Daddy that we were taking him and momma out for dinner for their birthday's and anniversary. My mom knew about the party.

Here is my dad with Abby & Allie. They learned how to play Hide and Seek and Duck, Duck, Goose this weekend. I will post the video later. It is really cute.
