Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast

Tuesday was the Kindergarten Feast at the girls school.  The classes came in and everyone sang three songs and then got to go eat with their families. We ate first with Allie's class and then moved to Abby's class and talked to other parents and her teachers.  After the Feast was over I checked the girls out of school, I did not want to come back in less than 2 hours to pick them up, besides all they were doing was watching a movie that afternoon.

Abby's Disguised Turkey

Abby also had to disguise a turkey for school.  Here is her ladybug.

Birthday Party

We had the girls party at our new church building.  We let the kids play outside for a while and then went inside to the Great Hall (where we have Children's Church) to play pin the tale on Bullseye, eat pizza, play Simon Says, and open gifts.  I think everyone had a great time.  It was a really nice day and I could have held the party outside but you never know what kind of weather you are going to get in November in Memphis.

And MUCH MUCH MORE!!

Birthday Cake

This year was the first year that the girls wanted totally different cakes.  Two years ago I made 2 round cakes into balloons and last year we were at Disney and I had Disney make cupcakes for the girls.  Abby's choice was Toy Story and Allie's was Barbie.  I did not think the Barbie options that were available were age appropriate for 6 year olds so we choose Princess.  I bought at the Disney Store these play figures sets for cake toppers.

Disney Basket for Family Fun Night

Friday night was Richland Elem's Family Fun Night.  You could purchase BBQ from Central BBQ (Yummy!) and the kids could do games and crafts.  They also has a Silent Auction for Baskets that each Class put together.  The money raised from the baskets gets divided equally between each teacher at Richland to purchase items for their classroom.  As main room mom for Abby's class I was in charge of the basket.  Since I was in charge I got to pick the theme!  I chose a Disney theme.  Here is a picture of the basket and a picture of what all was given and purchased for the basket.  It was a lot of fun putting it together.

Happy Birthday Abby & Allie

Today my little girls turned 6.  It seems like yesterday that they were just little bitty babies.  The past 6 years have went by so very fast and it seems to only get faster.  A friend of mine explained it like trying to hold sand in your hands and some sand is always falling thru.

After school we went to Gigi's Cupcakes with Kingston, Camden and Jamie.  Kingston was going to be out of town for the party so we decided to have cupcakes with them after school.  Gigi's Cupcake's are good but not as good as Muddy's in my opinion.

After we got home I gave the girls their gifts.  They were so excited to get Pillow Pets and a new Jessie and Tangled T-shirt.

After gifts we put together goody bags for the girls party.  I only had to buy the silly straws and silly bands everything elde came from the birthday bags I got from MOMC earlier in the year.

School Pojects

This past weekend we did school projects.  Here is Allie and her princess turkey who is hiding so she will not get caught for the Thanksgiving Feast.

Abby and her Timeline.  When I first saw this all I could think about was my friend Rachel and the time lines she has done for 2 of her children when they were in first grade.  Luckily ours was only 3 pictures and 3 sentences.  Allie came home with Timeline yesterday and we did it last night and I sent it back to school this morning without getting a picture.  I am sure it will be sent back home and I will take a picture then.

Abby loves ducks.  She was so excite to find a baby picture of her and Allie wearing duck dresses.  How cute!!

Things being said at our house right now

Abby:  "If you have 2 one hundred dollars you could buy us a Wii."  She really wants a Wii for Christmas, Dear Santa...

Both Girls:  "That takes too long." or "This is taking forever."

Abby:  "You have got to be kidding me."  I say this a lot as well :)

Allie:  "I don't want to go to school."  As she walks as the door telling Abby to wait up.

Both Girls:  "I'm hungry."  Said many times every afternoon after school.

Both Girls:  "Family Game Night!"  The girls new favorite show on Hub TV.  It is life size version of Hasbro Games.  They even have it for the Wii, volumes 1, 2 & 3!!

Memphis City School's Think Show 2010

On Thursday, the 11th Memphis City Schools held their annual Think Show. I was not really sure what this was all about.  All the classes make projects for display on something they are learning about.  The Kindergarten was learning about Native Americans so all their projects were on different Native American Tribes.  I also had the opportunity to be a judge for the projects.  I judged the Preschool class project on Forest Life.  I got to talk to the class and they were so cute and surprisingly very talkative.

I finished quickly since I had just one project to judge and was in the Library talking when Ms. Lewis asked me if I would help judge some power point projects.  The first one was pretty good, good layouts on their slides, most had some type of sound effects and informative.  This was done by a 5th grade class.  My first PowerPoint presentation was done in college not 5th grade!  The second group did not fair as well.  Their slides were very simple, not creative, only one or two sounds effects and they had their facts wrong.

Here are a few pictures of the girls projects and some for other classes.  Abby already wants to make an airport for her next project for 1st grade because none of the cities they made had an airport.

Mickey's Rockin' Road Show

I took the girls to see Mickey's Rockin' Road Show as part of their birthday on Saturday.  It was downtown at the Cannon Center. I liked Disney on Ice MUCH better.   The show was Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and their sidekick going on the road to find acts for their talent show.  The second act was the talent show.  They had Cinderella, tigger, Jessie, Woody, Buzz, and some silly jokes in their talent show.
