St. Louis Butterfly House

After the American Girl Store we drove over the Butterfly House.

St. Louis Day 2 -- The American Girl Store

Tuesday morning we drove to Chesterfield to the Chesterfield Mall to the new American Girl Store.  The girls were so excited to go and get their first American Girl Doll.  We arrived a little before 10 and there was already a small group gathering out front to get in.  We got out and went to wait with everyone else and the doors opens a few minutes later.  It was so much fun to see the girls faces and to see how excited they were to get their dolls and see all the cool stuff they can add to birthday and Christmas lists!

Before we left my aunts house
It did not take that long to actually get the dolls, in fact the girls were ready to pay and unbox the dolls 15 minutes after we got there, they could not wait to hold Molly and Marie Grace!!

So excited!

More waiting on lunch.... Lunch was good. I am glad we did it but we most likely will not do it again next time we go, especially if Raymond is with us :)

St. Louis Day 1 Part 2

After going up in the Arch and walking back from Busch Stadium we walked toward CityGarden.
Citygarden is a unique sculpture garden in downtown St. Louis.

There is water coming down the slope and you can go inside the head.

Playing in fountains.   They also have a wading pool sculpture that was crowded with kids "swimming" in it.

More sculptures

Playing on the musical tiles

The Citygarden was fun to walk through and let the girls play in.

St. Louis Vacation - Day 1, Part 1

Yes, you read that right, Day 1, Part 1.  I LOVE to take pictures and I have lots from our trip. I did not want to put 18 pictures in one post so I will divide this post into two parts.  As will you will see as I slowly (and very late, I might add) post about our vacation a pattern will develop...day 1, part 1, day 2, part 1 and so on....
We left for St. Louis after church on Sunday (in June, told ya it was late getting posted) and went to my aunt's who lives right outside St. Louis in Imperial.  We got there around 7:20 that night.  Monday morning we got up and headed downtown to the Arch and the City Garden (see next post).

When we arrived downtown we parked in the parking garage next to the Arch and walk through the park to the Arch.  After going through security (which was a lot like airport security) the girls talked about going up in the arch.  Abby decided against it so Allie and I went up.  The ride up was not bad, as Allie will tell you it takes 4 minutes to go up and 3 and half minutes to come down.  Here is a picture we had a nice lady take for us at the top.  Allie literally walked off the tram across the to top and was ready to go back down.  I kept her up there for a few minutes and we went down the other side.

When we arrive back down on the ground Abby was crying because she changed her mind and wanted to go up.  I told Raymond I would go back up with Abby (this would mean buying me another ticket to go up) but Raymond decided to go up with her.

After the Arch we walked down to Busch Stadium and this picture was taken after we walked back toward the City Garden, they were hungry and hot.  We stopped and had lunch right after I took this picture and they were MUCH happier.  After lunch we walked down to the City Garden and they played for a while as well.

after the City Garden we walked back to the Arch and headed back to my aunts.

Abby's Accident

The girls were out of school a week before I got out so they got to come to Day School with me and hang out with Mr. Connor for the week.  On Tuesday Connor brings Abby to me crying and she tells me she has something stuck between her teeth.  Well she did not have anything stuck in her teeth, part of her two front, permanent teeth where gone.  She was playing tag on the play ground and ran into the bars used as steps to the monkey bars.  She even left a mark on the bar, see picture below.  I was remarkably calm and we went to Miss Michelle's office to figure out what to do next.  She called Dr. Jeff for us and he referred us to a peds dentist who we were able to get into that afternoon.  After a little while Abby went back to her class and finished the day with her class.  Her teeth did not hurt her, I think she was just scared.  To be honest so was I!

The dentist was great with Abby.  We scheduled to fix her teeth in June using sedation since she was so scared and frighten.  We went on June 14th to get the teeth repaired and Abby did great!  She spent most of the afternoon laying around once we got but only after eating lunch at chick-fil-a.  She can not have hard food or candy and will have to have her apples cut up from now on.  Hopefully she will not chip these.  She has been very self conscience about all this and has not wanted to show many people her teeth and even was embarrassed that I put the first picture on Facebook.  She now has what Dr. Jeff calls Movie Star Teeth. Hopefully they will stay that way!!
