Snow Day

It snowed this morning!! It did not take the girls long to discover that it had snowed. After a quick breakfast, we put on our "snow" clothes and rain boots out into the snow we went. We don't have a true winter coat so the girls are wearing their Harding sweatshirts and raincoats.

Abby's Snow Angles. She made 3 different ones

hair cut by Abby

Last night when I was fixing dinner the girls were in the dining room eating dinner, or they were suppose to be eating dinner when I heard Allie say Abby cut her hair. I walk into the dining room and saw a long piece of her hair laying on the table. She had been cutting paper so I think it was an accident.

Cupcake Bites

I love the Bakerella blog. I found this idea on the site and thought I could that.... Here are the ones I made. Not quite as cute as the ones on the Bakerella site.

The girls licking the batter off the beaters. I use to do this when I was a child when my mom baked.

It made more than the 50 it said it would.

Two that turned out pretty well.

Snow

It snowed today!!! For a little while but it was all gone by this afternoon. I wish it was more but hopefully we will another one later this winter. When Abby saw the sun coming out she asked me to make it stop so she could have the snow for a while.

Allie on our front porch. (yes that it our snowman still out, it is still winter)

Abby getting the snow off her shoes before we get into the car to school.

Watching it snow from the patio door. I think Abby must be on her tippy toes, she is not that much taller than Allie.

The Past Week

It is has been over a week since I last posted on my blog. The past week has been very sad at our house. A week ago Monday my Uncle Al passed away after battling cancer. He was such a kind and gentle man. I don't think I ever heard him raise his voice. All children loved him and he had such a way with them. Starting in high school I would go and spend 2 weeks with him and Aunt Ella in St. Louis during the summer. I got to go to Chicago with them the summer before my sophomore year in college and I remember walking around the city with him, Aunt Ella and my cousin John. When I took Raymond to St. Louis with me for the first time he went with us to see the Cards play the Cubs and liked Raymond even though he is a Cubs fan. Uncle Al "made" lightening for me one night after a thunderstorm. He made it with a spark plug. My girls got to meet him and took to him as all kids did. Here are the girls with him during our trip back in the summer of 2007.

Pouncer Pal's Pizza Party

Today was a Pouncer Pal's Pizza Party and a Lady Tiger Basketball game. Pouncer was a NO SHOW! Which upset Allie & McKenzie a lot after the game was over but not too much during the game. The pizza party was fun, free pizza and space to run around in, what more could they want. Abby was so afraid the band would be there. When we got there the band was not there and I told her look, no band. But when I took Allie to the bathroom after we ate, guess who was there? The pep band. We did not tell Abby till we walked back into the gym. She kept her hands in her ears the entire game so did Allie. They did really well over all. Next time we will have to remember to take the ear plugs. Raymond will tell you he does not like women's basketball. But I think he has fun as well. The Lady Tigers started off well but did not score a bucket for over 5 minutes in the second half to fall behind. They found back and got with in 2 but Southern Miss was too much for them and the Lady Tigers lost. When we got home we watched the men play ball on TV and they won. GO TIGERS GO!!

Birthday Gift Card Tin

I was looking for a cute new way to send a gift card or money for a birthday gift and this is what I came up with. It was a white tin that I covered in brown paper and tied ribbon to the handle. Now all I have to do is fill it and mail it.

Raymond's Christmas Gift

Raymond has been wanting this for quite some time and now he finally has one. He got a 32in Plasma TV. He is very proud of the "deal" he got on it. Now, how can I get a couch and a be able to redo the computer room into a craft room :)

Raymond: Abby what do you think of our new TV?
Abby: We need the other one back in here. (the old one is now in our bed room)

Family Tree

I made 4 Family Trees for Christmas this year and this was the only one I remembered to take a picture of. This is for Raymond's sister's family. I used a template I purchased at Eclectica Scrapbooks for the tree and the leaves were made by using my Slice die cut machine by Making Memories (which Raymond got me for Christmas).

This Week in Pictures

I have a group of friends who are doing the 365 Project for 2009. The 365 Project is where you take a picture every day for a year. Some people are doing it in scrapbook form or in a blog. My friends Carrie & Jennifer have already started their 365 blogs. Seeing that I don't want to be left behind I have taken a picture every day this year as well. Here are the pictures from this week:

Baby Cal trying to play with our cat. Poor Kitty.

Abby sweeping up her cutting mess. What a big girl! She did such a great job she got a treat when she was finished. Using the dust pan was her idea.

P.S. I even started a blog for this but chickened out about putting the link in this post. If it looks like I will keep up, I will post the link :)

Happy New Year

I meant to post on New Year's Day but the day got away from me. I was busy cleaning out the girls room and answering the question, "Why are you selling my Veggie Bus?" or "You can not sell that." I think they have learned a little bit about clothing sales and once it is packed up and taken to the attic, it usually means it is going to the next clothing sale. I also started and almost finished going through my scrapbook & crafting supplies. I should be able to have a great yard sale in the spring!

Anyway, here are my new years goals:

-Drink a glass of milk every morning for breakfast.
-Finish the books on my night stand (I started one last night and already in Ch. 3, I will post about this book later).
-Be a better wife & mom.

Happy New Year!
