Craft Time

Now that the fall consignment season is over I will have more time to sew and scrapbook. (My 2 favorite hobbies!) Here are a few of the items I have completed this weekend.

I made the dress last fall and the girls can still wear it as a long shirt (too short for a dress this year) this fall so I made the ruffle pants to go with it. They are not uneven as shown in the picture I guess it is the way they are hanging on my blinds. The pants are a green whale corduroy from http://www.fabric.com/.

I ironed on pumpkins and candy corn bling on white long sleeve t-shirts for Halloween. The girls each chose where their items where placed on the shirts. Abby picked the candy corn and Allie the pumpkin's.

These shirts I got from Gymboree and ironed on the turkey's. I think they are so cute. The turkey's have a glitter look to them. I took a leap that the colors would look right with the iron-on and it turned out great. (The darker color is plum.)

Here are some of the fabric I have and I plan to do with them:
I had big goals for this fabric collect from the spring, the pattern I bought was a little to confusing and then spring turned into summer. So I hope to make something for next spring now...
I found these appliques yesterday, I must have bought them last fall and forgot I had them. I bought 2 red gingham dresses at the Highland Clothing Sale this past week that the Santa Heads will go great on with the girls name under them.

I am going to make ruffle pants for the girls for our trip...I may make the ruffle in black with ribbon around the seam....

I am going to make A-line dresses with a Minnie Mouse Head in the center for our trip as well. I have not decided on which buttons I will use, the red or ones in the Mickey pack.
I have ordered 2 long sleeve t-shirts, from my friend Allison, with a Christmas tree appliqued on it made from the fabric below. I am going to make ruffle pants out of this to match the shirt. Thanks Allison for letting me borrow the idea and for making the shirts for me!
And finally I bought this last year to make something for this Holiday season, but I am not sure what. I have also found online some adorable new Michael Miller prints that I love for the holidays that I want to get as well. So this may have to be sold on eBay so I can purchase the other fabric I have fallen for.
Once the items are made I will post them for you to see.

Fantasy Football Time

It is that time of year again, Fantasy Football. I said I was not going to play this year because I did so bad last year but I was talked into it by Raymond and Chris Barber. We held our draft at Rachel's house again this year. We also welcome Sara, Nat, and Laurel to our fantasy football group.

Laurel made the cutes dessert for us, hamburgers and fries, which is really cupcakes with green, yellow & red icing on top of a brownie and sugar cookie fries.

Final Draft Board. I will post my team once I get them entered into our league and remember who I picked.

Christian Student Center Grand Opening

The CSC opened their new building this afternoon. The old building will be eventually torn down to make way for a grand entrance into the U of M. I hung out at the CSC my 4 years at the U of M and this ministry has always meant a lot to me. I hope the girls one day can find a place there if they attend the U of M.
This is brick we bought to be placed in a walkway on the property.

Fall Soccer

Abby has started soccer practice for the fall. Allie still does not want to play and that is fine, she just wants to cheer for Abby's team. A friend of the girls from church, Myles is also on Abby's team.
Here is Abby's team's first practice

She was not trilled at first to have to play goalie, but she got into it after a minute

Allie just played with my phone.

Live at 9

Tuesday our Mothers of Multiples Club was on WREG's Live at 9 (channel 3). We talked about being moms of multiple birth children, our group and mentioned our consignment sale that is next weekend at the Agricenter.
Here is a group picture with the host Alex Coleman and Mary Beth Connolly
Some of us brought our kids and some did not.
Maybe Abby can have a career in TV if the FebEx pilot thing does not pan out
There were 3 different Elvis impersonators on the show Tuesday as well. If you know Allie she has never met a stranger. Here she is with 2 of the Elvis'
It was fun being on TV, I don't like the way I sound or look TV but it was still fun. The girls had a great time.

1st Day of School

Well the 1st day at Mothers Day Out at First Evan. The girls went there some last fall while I worked for the fall and I was really impressed with their program. Even more so now that I saw what all the 4 year old class is doing all day. Today when I dropped them off Allie said "oh no, we are late." Their friends were at the table working on some craft and the teacher told me that I can drop them off at 9:15 because starting next week they would hit the ground running at 9 :30. I am so happy they are enjoying it and I hope they learn a lot this year. When I picked them up on Monday I asked Abby if she loved her new school and she said "yes, I love it!" I then asked Allie, "do you love you new school?" "No." she says. " "Do you like your new school?", not sure what I am going to get back, she says, "yes, I like it."

The Wiggles Live

Thanks to my friend Kelley we were able to win free tickets to see the Wiggles Tuesday at The Cannon Center. The girls had a great time even though they were tired from their very busy day downtown.

Big Red Car

The girls kept asking what their names were. We use to watch the Wiggles on Playhouse Disney and then they stopped coming on Disney sometime back. Abby is now into watching the Sprout channel and noticed they are going to be on Sprout starting August 24th. She is so excited. During the show when they would sang a song that is on a video we have the girls would look at me and say "that's on our video."

Lunch with Raymond

After our trip to the see the Disney Train we went to have lunch with Raymond at his office. He has taught the girls which building in the downtown skyline is the one he works in so they were very excited to go into the building on Tuesday. After lunch we went and walked around downtown by the river. They enjoyed being at Daddy's work for while on Tuesday.

If you know Abby very well you know she wants to be a FedEx Pilot when she grows up. This FedEx truck was outside Morgan Keegan when we walked back to the building.

When Allie saw this FedEx truck after the Wiggles she had to have her picture made as well.

Disney's Christmas Carol Train

Today we went to see Disney's The Christmas Carol Train at the Central Station downtown. The train is promoting their new version on The Christmas Carol coming out in November. The train cars housed costumes, concept art, face morphing like the characters in the movie and miniatures from the movie.

Ammie, Kingston and Abby playing with bubbles that Jamie brought. We waited about 45 minutes to get into the train.

The front train. They all looked the same.

As we were leaving the train they had a holiday feast photo "op" set-up but Abby would not look at the camera.
After the train we went to have a "picnic" with Raymond at his work and then off to see the Wiggles. (I will post those 2 items later).

DORA the Explorer

Sunday night I took the girls to see DORA the Explorer at the Orpheum. The girls LOVED it and were so well behaved, I could not have asked for better kids that night. They were so excited to get to go to the Orpheum. I look forward to the day when I can take them to Broadway shows there.
